Meet the Team

Joanne Caisley

I first joined JB Microscopes Ltd in 2001 in an administrative role and I have loved working for the company ever since. In 2014 I decided that I was ready for the next step and purchased the company from Laurence, the previous proprietor when he retired, and have been developing and growing the company to what it is today. We are close knit family orientated team with our aim to provide a good reliable service and work together to provide the level our customers expect.

Ben Caisley

I joined the JB Microscopes Ltd team in June 2021 after successfully completing my engineering based A-levels at the sixth form centre in King Edward VI high school, Morpeth. I am now enrolled onto a the Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Course in a Day-release apprenticeship scheme. I fill my spare time with anything related to motorsport, starting in karts, I am now moving into racing Radical SR1 Sportscars so I am either training or learning the tracks whenever I am not working.

Paul Shiel

I started working part time in 2013 alongside my shift work at Egger in Hexham. When the opportunity arose to become full time and a permanent member of the team in 2013, it was not a difficult decision. My role as service engineer has meant I get to meet people from a wide variety of employments across the north and middle of England as well as Scotland.

In the summer months I play competitive quoits in a pub league and Autumn/winter I enjoy being part of the gamekeeping team beating and helping on the local shoots working with my beloved springer spaniel Olive. I spend time with my wife Mandy and grown up kids, Adam and Molly.

Ian Finch

I joined J B Microscopes in 2020 as a part time service engineer to assist Paul with on site service and repair work.

I enjoy the outdoors and keeping fit as well as spectating motorsports. I play squash and Bridge and I’m kept busy by my wife Karen and kids Hannah and James.

Hope for Hedgehogs – Woodside

Hope for Hedgehogs Woodside is a Hedgehog rescue and rehabilitation organisation based in Ryton, Gateshead.

Staffed and run entirely by volunteers, they rely on the public’s help to help save these beautiful creatures who are now on the red list and in danger of being wiped out in the UK.

We've been very happy with the service provided by J B Microscopes, over the last 5 years.
